Lucas Funny

 Not sure why the pictures are coming out sideways. On my computer they are the right way.... oh well! You get the picture. Anyway, Lucas brings these books home to read. We are to read them together and then he will tell me about the book. As you can see this book was very repetitive (as are a lot of them)

It kept going like this for the entire book. So at the end I turned to Lucas and said "So, what did you think of the book?"
He replied "that's just a whole lot of going up!"

It was so cute!
Indeed, it is a lot of "going up!" We are so happy Lucas is learning to read and enjoying it! Phew!

Look who we saw!!

 We are always happy to have friends come to town! We were so happy to get to see the Pawlowskis! Unfortunately we didn't get to spend too much time with them but it was really fun to have them in our home for dinner. Their kids look so grown up!! There is potential for Jane and Hudson in the future! I think it took a whole 30 minutes before John had an inappropriate comment. I'm sure it would have come much sooner but we now have listening ears always around (lucy!!) ha! J/K Anyway, thanks Powlowskis for stopping in! Oh and John hooked us up with some awesome coupons. I have been happy on many occasions to go to my freezer and pull out a meal from John!! Thanks!!

Groupons and some Cousin fun!

 Gotta love groupons!! Each year we seem to  find ourselves at some random bowling alley with our cousins! Random because we usually get some groupon and aren't really familiar with the bowling alley. This one definitely looked like a dive as we drove up and it was pretty old school but the kids still had fun!! This was also where we handed Alisa's kids off to Matt and Camie who were going to watch Owen and Olivia for the rest of Alisa and Ryan's trip. It's so fun to live by cousins!

Family of 8!

 It's so nice living close to family. We got to watch Alisa and Ryan's kids while they went on a trip. We had them for several days. We had fun playing at home and going to the park (indoor park because yes it is still FREEZING here and snowing!!) and running errands. It was fun to have them with us. Olivia was teething while she was with us and I think she was confused every day when she woke up and realized it was still me getting her out of bed and not her mom. However, she did a nice job and sweet Owen was so good. Jane enjoyed having a buddy around everyday!! Our kids loved having a little baby in the house. They found Olivia highly entertaining. I'm not sure Jane always approved of all the attention Olivia seemed to get! Lucas loves Olivia to pieces and followed her around all day long. He was so sweet with her.

Car Show

We took the kids to the auto show downtown. They had a GREAT time. Who knew looking at cars could be so much fun! Well actually Andy knew. He has always enjoyed going to car shows. I don't think I had ever been to one until we were married. the kids loved climbing into whatever car they wanted and we especially loved getting a test drive in the Jeep and going up and down the steep hill and driving over rough terrain. We visited them several times!! The boys also had fun trying out the rock wall that was there. Ethan had no problem getting to the top and Lucas made a good try at it! Unfortunately I can't say we walked away with our dream car but it was fun to imagine!! For now it's back to the oddesy and our 16 year old civic!

Nice car but I think it belongs in California not Minnesota!

Easter

 Happy Easter! we had a great Easter doing our traditional easter egg coloring and candy hunt on Sunday. We enjoyed a nice brunch with our Neighbor on Saturday morning. Jane is at a very fun age as she is starting  to catch on to all the traditions and really gets into them. She loved coloring the eggs and tried her very first boiled egg this year. She claimed to like it but when offered one the next day she turned it down and has not had one since! Maybe next year!! We also had a great feast at Ryan and Alisa's house on Sunday night. 

 

Ethan came home from church with a cool gift from his teacher. It was a bag with lots of things to represent the last week of Jesus' life. He was so excited to share it with us. He spent a long time reading the scriptures and sharing with us what each thing represented. It was very sweet.
