The kids loved pulling the handcarts. Yeah, it might be fun for 5 minutes but can you imagine traveling across the country like this!?!?!

The Trip Out West....Family Reunion Time and oh did I mention there is a wedding at the end of it?!?!?
We left bright and early (2:45 am to be exact) to make our trek west. We had it planned to meet up with Matt and Camie at the first gas stop. Our final destination was Bear Lake. Our trip was 20 hours total. We crammed 14 hours into the first day with some stops along the way. I've always wanted to visit Mt. Rushmore so that can now be crossed off my bucket list. We also stopped at Wall Drug and it just so happens we were in town during the annual bike rally. We were surrounded by Harleys! On day two we stopped at Martin's cove. I really liked it there and learned a lot about the pioneers during our visit there.
Our kids were tired from waking up early. Here is lucas taking a rest while the others watch a movie about mt. rushmore
